"Live from the Waldau-Stadion in Stuttgart, Germany, welcome to Cosmic Wrestling's second ever pay-per-view event, Evolution. I am your host, Dorian Hindman. Joining me, veteran wrestler Manny Fantana. Manny?"
"What a night and what a fantastic arena in which to watch some wrestling."
"Or, as might be more appropriate, fighting. Our first match will be a no holds barred match between Diamond TA and Suzuki. Fantana, this one is personal."
"They started out as fighting contenders for the Cosmic title, but then it became personal after Diamond TA repeatedly outsmarted the Japanese giant, Heine."
"You say outsmarted, I say cheap-shotted."
We cut to a promo video set to some country-rock music showing the last few weeks of attacks that Diamond TA has given to Suzuki. We see the mustachioed wrestler attacking the Japanese brawler in a car park and locking him in the boot. We see him hitting Suzuki from behind with a sledgehammer while Suzuki is making his entrance. This feud is as personal as feuds get, and they will settle it like men, in the ring.
"Fantana, that was a war!"
"It sure was. A war that either man could have won."
"But it was Suzuki that came out on top in the end." Dorian beams, Manny sulks. "Both men hit their biggest moves on the outside of the ring, but where TA took too long going for the pin, Suzuki capitalised. Do you agree that Diamond TA's showmanship lost him this match?"
"Absolutely not!" Fantana fumes. "His showmanship is what makes him the elite performer that he is."
"Well, tonight, it backfired. Ladies and gentlemen, I can officially announce that Suzuki is now the undisputed number one contender for the Cosmic Heavyweight title. The Dragon Championship, however, has two contenders tonight, Mohammed Cashman and Psicosis will challenge the inaugural champion, Flash. I think we all know who you're backing to win."
"Heine, we are about to bear witness to the crowning of the greatest champion in wrestling history. Prepare to feast your eyes upon Mo Cashman, the greatest professional athlete of all time!"
"We'll see about that. He has his work cut out trying to pry that title from the grasp of Flash, especially with the second generation luchador in there as well. No matter the victor, it's sure to be one hell of a match. Let's go to the ring."
"Come on, Mo!" Fantana yells as we cut.
"YES! YES! I knew he could do it! I told you! I told you, Heine!"
"He won with a low blow!"
"He won! That's all that matters in this sport, Heine. There are no disqualifications in three way matches, so a low blow is fair game. He pinned the former champ, and now he reigns supreme over the Dragon division! Long may he reign!"
"You're going to be insufferable now that he's champion, aren't you?"
"Probably, yes." They both share a laugh. Dorian shakes his head, clearing himself for the next match.
"Now, Manny, next up is the Cosmic Duos title match. This past Thursday, The Seventh Circle stood in the ring and announced that if they do not win a title tonight, they will leave Cosmic Wrestling. If War and Skull Seven can get a win here, they will ease the pressure on their leader for later on. But if they lose..."
"They won't lose, Heine. They are bigger, stronger, and outright better than their opponents, the cheating morons, MAX AWESOME."
"I appreciate your confidence, but it might be misplaced. MAX AWESOME, along with Tommy Gates, easily dispatched The Circle two weeks ago in a six man tag match. A match that surely must have favoured The Circle on paper."
"The fact that that was such a shock result tells you who the favourites are tonight, Heine. And I've heard that this will be a tornado tag, meaning there can be no cheap wins by count out, this month. Expect a dominant victory for The Seventh Circle."
"Let's go to the ring and find out."
"It was a resounding victory, as you predicted, but for MAX AWESOME. Both of the young Tokyo lads hit their finishing moves, The Trendsetter and The Last Breath, simultaneously. War managed to kick out of AWESOME's move, but Skull Seven could not. This piles on the pressure for The Reaper later tonight."
"I feel let down, Heine." Fantana sulks. "But I'm sure The Reaper feels worse. He will have been hoping to go in to his title match later free of pressure. Instead, he has it all on his shoulders."
"He is the leader, is that not his place."
"No!" Manny spits. "A team is supposed to all pull together. Skull Seven, how can a man of your size stay down for a couple of little geeks like MAX and AWESOME."
"Those two geeks are still out Cosmic Duos champions. Who is left to challenge them, Manny?"
"I don't care. Move on." Fantana is sulking heavily.
"Wow, okay." Dorian seems flustered for a moment. "Let's head over to the ring for the 'rebirth' of King Wonderful."
As we cut back to the commentators, Dorian is laughing uncontrollably. Manny is dejected.
"Heine, could you control yourself?" Fantana manages.
"That's rich, coming from you." Hindman eventually says as he calms down. "Oh, but that was glorious, wasn't it. Those arrogant kids that call themselves King and Queen and talked big about how they were going to take over just got beaten clean in the middle of the ring by El Ultimo. What did you call him? The ancient Puerto Rican?"
"El Ultimo just got the most impressive win of his career." Manny tries to save it.
"Any win that King Wonderful gets will be the best of his career." Dorian chimes back. "He's lost all three matches he's had here in Cosmic Wrestling, so there's literally no competition."
Fantana doesn't respond, he just scowls at Dorian. Realising the trouble he's in, Hindman's laughter dries up.
"Fantana, we're beyond half way through this brilliant night of wrestling already. All that remains are three singles matches for three glorious title belts. First up, the Knock Out title rematch between former champion, Mad Dog Silva, and the rookie of the year, Isiah Jones."
We cut to a video package with ominous music, showing the previous weeks of TV where Mad Dog Silva attacked Isiah Jones in the locker room, then interfered in his matches. We then see Jones winning the belt in his second ever match, and attacking Mad Dog on this week's Cosmic Wrestling TV. The music builds as the violence peaks. Then, we cut to the ring.
"I'm not going to say that I like it, or that I even appreciate it, but Mad Dog Silva's tactics worked."
"The tactic of being better than your opponent?" Manny is confused.
"The tactic of attacking Isiah Jones and getting in to his head. Mad Dog was dominant tonight. He dispatched the champion with relative ease, taking back the belt he lost just a few short weeks ago. Somehow, though, I don't feel like we've seen the end of this feud."
"No automatic rematches in Cosmic Wrestling, Heine."
I know that. Mad Dog managed to goad a rematch from Jones, I guess Jones will have to do the same."
"Best of luck with that, kid." Fantana gloats. "Silva's head will be far harder to invade than the weak mind of Jones."
"If you're such a master of psychology, why don't you give him some pointers?"
"As if I'd help and undeserving rookie like him." Manny waves a massive, dismissive hand.
"Next up, here in Stuttgart, history will be written. For the first time ever, Cosmic Wrestling will have a Women's champion, The Cosmic Queen. Tiger and Akira Yamamoto won the right to compete for this belt, and what a match it should be, Fantana."
"We have a powerful, African beast in Tiger, her main strength being her strength. She can tear apart all of these pretty little women that we're filling the division with."
"Last week, you admitted being impressed by the young, Japanese model."
"I was, but nowhere near as impressed as I was with Tiger. The beauty from Hong Kong is an incredibly good looking woman, but I don't think it can be argued that she can rival Tiger. Tiger is a cut above."
"Let's go to the ring and crown the first ever Cosmic Queen."
"I guess power alone isn't always enough, Fantana?"
"Who would have thought that something so beautiful could be so deadly. What does she call that kick to the back of the head?"
"She calls it Black Magic."
"She's had two matches in Cosmic Wrestling and won both with that kick. Both times delivered to far larger women. It's a devastation shot, Heine."
"I couldn't agree more and, much like Tommy Gates' One Winged Angel, I can see it becoming a move that nobody kicks out from."
"I think I'm going to have to agree." Fantana nods slowly. "I might be in love, Heine."
Dorian swallows laughter as he attempts to talk. "Speaking of Tommy Gates, he'll defend his Cosmic title against The Reaper in what has become a title versus career match."
We cut to a video package running down the last month of The Seventh Circle losing their big matches and then promising to leave if they didn't win a title tonight. Clips from MAX AWESOME'S win earlier flash on the screen through a circle of flame that steadily dims. Just as the screen fades to black, we see The Reaper's face. He says "All men must die. But darkness will not fall easily to the light."
"The Evolution of Cosmic Wrestling will have to continue on without The Seventh Circle."
"That was devastating, Heine. He barely put up a fight!" Fantana is mad. "I'm furious with Reaper and Skull tonight, they were both terrible. Perhaps the time has come for The Seventh Circle to disband if this is their best."
"There is no perhaps about it, they're gone. But Cosmic Wrestling will return this Thursday on Cosmic Wrestling TV. From an amazing night of wrestling in Germany, I've been Dorian Hindman. From myself and Manny Fantana, see you soon!"
